Families are important to us at Tranquilo Bay. We have somewhere between 25 – 40% of our guests that are families traveling together. The make up of these families varies between parents with their children to grandparents, children and grandchildren taking a special vacation. Some of the children that come to Tranquilo Bay are young children and others are either in college or out of school.
We find that during the holidays in December we see a number of multi-generational groups with the youngest children being in elementary school. Over the school breaks in February, March and April we tend to see immediate families traveling together for a nice break from a colder climate. The summer months of June, July and August bring those in search of an adventure or family reunion.
Since we have our own families on site at Tranquilo Bay we are in a position to work with other families and help them enjoy the best of Bocas del Toro as is appropriate for their unique group. We try to send each family with its own guide to do excursions away from Tranquilo Bay or activities here on site. This gives the family its own bonding time. If the children are young and would like to eat dinner earlier than the regularly scheduled dinner time, we have them eat with our children and then play with the other children while the adults enjoy a dinner sans kiddos.
If possible, we set dinner tables to give each family its own space and opportunity to visit since they may be coming from many locations to spend time together in paradise. This helps to plan for outings each day that work for the entire group.
Ramon pulled together photos for me of activities available to families here at Tranquilo Bay. We will feature a few each day this week. If you are interested in booking your family’s next vacation at Tranquilo Bay, please contact us. We look forward to hosting you.
