New Species for Backyard Bird List

Panama Birdwatching

Birding Panama

Last month, while I was birding with some guests at Tranquilo Bay, in one of my favorite spots during the migration, we had a great encounter with a Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus), which was a lifer for me.  The next day I went back with my camera, and the bird was still around, so I got some nice pictures of this uncommon migratory specie.  After that day I could not find it again.  It probably took a couple of days to rest before it continued on its the way to South America.

Bobolink

Bobolinks are birds normally found in tall grasslands, uncut pastures and meadows. This species breeds in United States from British Columbia, Manitoba and Newfoundland south to northern California, Colorado and Pennsylvania.
