A little jewelry of Bocas del Toro

Birdwatching PanamaThe Fringillidae family (Goldfinches and Euphonias) is well represented in Bocas del Toro.  At the different locations where we go birding we have seen six different species of Euphonias to date.

Today I want to share a picture of a Olive-backed Euphonia (Euphonia gouldi).  This little bird is often found, more often than birders would like, close to the top of trees.  In Bocas del Toro, it is a relatively common species.  In this picture you can see all the pretty colors of this bird.  This particular bird was nice to me and let me get some nice pictures.
